Viewing Grant Proposal: City of Kalamazoo-Crosstown Carport Solar Array

The City of Kalamazoo will install a 150.42 KW carport solar array at its Crosstown Parkway facility. By generating 178,000 kWh of electricity per year, it will serve the renewable energy goals of the MI Healthy Climate Plan, City of Kalamazoo Master Plan, as well as the Kalamazoo Community Sustainability Plan. The installation of this carport solar array will generate energy savings of more than $27,000 that the City can invest in public services for our distressed community; and improve public safety by enabling police/emergency responders to quickly access their vehicles in all weather conditions.
